Become an Affiliated Group

The Aston Villa Supporters’ Trust welcomes all groups, whether they are official or unofficial supporter clubs or local community groups, to affiliate themselves to the Trust for FREE.

All we ask you to do is:

a.  Join the E-Subscriber service and email us at enquiries@villatrust.org.uk the Group’s details; and

b.  Notify us by email and/or by using the Yahoo! Discussion forum of your activities, so that the Trust can publicise and communicate these to a wider audience.

Supporter Clubs: What’s the catch?

As Villa supporters are spread across the country and the globe,  a Birmingham centric Supporters’ Trust is not practical for its members.  As a consequence, like the Football Supporters’ Federation, the Trust requires a regional framework to support the organisation.

We believe that the Trust should use the existing infrastructure and promote the activities of existing regional Supporters’ Clubs, and help them grow.

We will promote your activities to our members and encourage them to be involved with the regional Clubs.  You will receive email communications from the Trust on national, regional and Club issues, independent of the Club.  In return, we would ask for this information to be dispersed to your members, to highlight the Trust, and to enable regional members to discuss Trust related issues.

In addition, the Trust, as an independent organisation, will represent your issues at local (e.g. Club) or national (e.g. FSF or Supporters Direct) levels, using the power of a united collective supporter voice.  The Trust can represent issues raised, without jeopardising your Official Supporter Club status.

As a non-subscription service, affiliation does not constitute any voting rights on Trust issues; this lies with the Trust membership.  However, the largest supporter groups will be asked to become a Co-Optee member of the Trust Board and to send a nominee to represent them at these Board meetings (to ensure that the Trust’s activities are being conducted for the benefit of the Villa community).

Finally, we believe that this mutual propagation of each others roles in the Villa community will strengthen the Supporter Clubs and the Trust. Viral marketing of this type is often the most effective and will drive people towards membership of the Clubs and Trust, participate in them, and provide a vehicle for constant reminders of the Clubs / Trust and its activities to a wider audience.

We look forward to working with you. Please affiliate to the Supporters’ Trust.
