Long term Strategic Objectives

The objectives of the Aston Villa Supporters’ Trust, as defined by the Trust’s Rules, are:

  • Facilitate and promote supporter ownership in Aston Villa directly into the Club or indirectly via the Trust
  • Facilitate wider supporter involvement in the club, including being the democratic mechanism for the election of supporter-directors; and
  • Support grass roots football initiatives in the local community.

    • Short to Medium Term Aims

    As a Trust with potentially no ability to acquire shares in the short term (following the disposal of the Trust’s 1,200 shares to RAL), the continuation of the Aston Villa Supporters’ Trust enables the supporters to respond if there is a change in the position regarding shares.

    The short term aim is to continue as an independent organization to:
    a. represent the fans on supporter issues in discussions with the Club in an impartial and representative manner;
    b. play a responsible part in the decision-making process by participating (e.g. as a regular attendee at the Supporter Consultation Group), influencing and providing professional advice, and show the benefit of supporter involvement; and
    c. provide links to the local community.

    Ultimately, by demonstrating the benefit of involvement, the Trust would facilitate the implementation of supporter representation at Board level.
